I battle with this too but I've found writing a set of goals for the year (in every area of life) is a useful check to keep things focussed. Of course you don't want to totally ignore any great ideas you might have but by viewing them in the light of your goals it is easier to say "no" to them. It provides a welcome check. Good luck with escaping the 9 to 5. I'm following your progress with interest as I'm just beginning my first steps on this path. Right now, I am investigating the Foreign Exchange market. I thought I would dig up some info on it after always seeing the 4X Made Easy infomercials on TV... as cheesy as they are.
